My name is Mina Todosijevic. I was born in Belgrade,Serbia in 1981, where I reside and work. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to draw and paint, so finishing a secondary art school and graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (painting) came quite natural to me. I also have the honour to convey my passion for painting to my young students: I started a school of painting and drawing for children in 2004, a job that fulfils me nearly as much as painting itself.
For me, painting is primarily a way of breaking out of constraints of this complicated world in which we are all trapped. Therefore, my paintings reflect the impulses of my inner world and fragments of the outside world passed through the lens of my own perception, my personal experience and emotional responses to the world around me and the Nature-of which I am an integral part, and which is also a part of me, expanded to unimaginable limits.
During that process I visit the places I love, my "shelters", observe the colours and shadows of the outer world and listen to the fleeting song of my inner being. Then I turn to listen to the voice of my subconsciousness, as part of the expression of mysterious, miraculous and unfathomable TRUE SELF. I always play with colours spontaneously, for I am convinced that games without boundaries enrich the soul.
